Jill Nussinow, aka The Veggie Queen™, is a Registered Dietitian and a culinary educator who has been teaching plant-based, whole foods cooking for more than 25 years, with an emphasis on nutrient-dense local, seasonal and organic ingredients. Since 1995, she has broadened her repertoire and has been teaching people about the joys of cooking vegetables and using the pressure cooker.
Jill has been on the culinary faculty of Santa Rosa Junior College for more than 20 years. She also teaches at cooking schools throughout the US and beyond, at festivals and events, farmer’s markets and more.
She lives in Santa Rosa and was the Santa Rosa McDougall program’s first cooking teacher when it relocated there in 2002, from St. Helena. Her cooking techniques fit into this program, as well as the Engine 2 Diet, the Fuhrman (Eat to Live0 Diet and other no-oil or lowfat diet programs which are wonderful for people with chronic dietary conditions such as high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes and cancer. She also teaches the general public at cooking schools throughout the US and beyond.
Jill is the author of two award-winning cookbooks, The Veggie Queen™: Vegetables Get the Royal Treatment and The New Fast Food™: The Veggie Queen™ Pressure Cooks Whole Food Meals in Less than 30 Minutes. The New Fast Food is her most recent book which has 150 vegan recipes, of which 138 are naturally gluten-free. This book is also offered as an ebook. She also stars in the DVD Pressure Cooking: A Fresh Look, Delicious Dishes in Minutes.
